PEACE BUILDING: Remembering the Dream – Part 1

Dream: Saturday, February 14, 2026, Valentine’s Day and the Jewish Sabbath — I enter a building called Shalom.

Then, I am walking in a neighborhood Called The Gardens.

I have my black puffer coat, the spring-fall one, and black tote bag with me. Inside the tote are a hat, gloves, disinfectant, I put them down and wander around the neighborhood.

I see a yard with with stuff piled on the grass and on the driveway. It is  a mess. I wonder what happens to all the stuff if it rains.

I walk around the neighborhood. I’m not sure where I am. It could be a place where it doesn’t rain anymore. No one is there.I wander through it.

There is a grey area.

Then, I’m in a different yard. It is rectangular-shaped space. A container, like my water bottle, is in the upper left corner of the space.

Then, I see a picture of three teenage girls. I think how wholesome and how white they look. They remind me of girls on the CS website.

Then, I’m in an office space. The furniture reminds me of the undulating forms of furniture in tech company offices. I I fall asleep on one of the curvilinear, contemporary couches and dream.

I am dreaming a dream within a dream.

I sit in an office chair and roll it around in it.

Then, I see a deep cardboard box. The box looks one at FL. I look down into the box. It’s half filled with loaves of bread. They are wrapped in clear wrapping, not paper, so I can see the bread.

Also, in the cardboard box are one or two clear sandwich bags with chocolate chip, raisin-oatmeal cookies inside. They look so good. I am about to take a couple of cookies, but then I think there might be germs on them, because one of the bags is open; others have already taken some cookies.

I realize I can choose: the cookies for immediate satisfaction or the more nourishing bread. One choice gives immediate satisfaction, but is unhealthy, one choice is more mundane but is the more nourishing choice.

I go where I left my coat and tote bag and retrieve them.

I wake up.

LESSON: Remembering Your Dreams

Write/record your dream, even a snippet,  as soon as you wake up. Use a journal and/or the audio notes on your mobile phone. Date and title the dream. To help determine the context of the dream, make notes about what is preoccupying you—physically, emotionally, spiritually, personally, professionally, politically.
